
Abu Road, Rajasthan, India – February 11, 2025 – Mita Soni, a research scholar at Madhav University, has been awarded a PhD in Sociology for her dissertation titled “Anxiety and Depression in Adolescents: A Sociological Perspective.” Her research was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Amarjeet Kumar.
Soni’s work delves into the complex mental health challenges faced by adolescents, particularly in the Anjar Taluka of the Kutch district in Gujarat. Her research analyzes the intricacies and impact of mental health issues among young people in this specific region.
The university and subject matter experts have lauded Mita Soni’s hard work and research, and the entire university community has extended their heartfelt congratulations on this significant achievement.
The oral examination for her research was conducted at Sardar Patel University, Anand, in the presence of Professor Rajesh Makwana, Head of the Sociology Department. Also present were Dr. Pawan Kumar, Research Director of Madhav University, Dean Dr. Rana Pratap Singh, and members of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
This research is expected to contribute significantly to understanding and addressing mental health issues among adolescents in society. It is considered extremely important in terms of comprehending and improving mental health challenges in society.
