Abu Road, August 18, 2024 – Madhav University’s Faculty of Pharmacy has initiated a public awareness campaign to educate communities about the prevention and treatment of monsoon-related diseases. Recognizing the increased risk of illnesses like malaria, dengue, cholera, typhoid, leptospirosis, viral fever, and gastroenteritis during the rainy season, the university is actively engaging with nearby villages to disseminate crucial information.
The campaign focuses on educating people about the causes and preventive measures for these diseases. Experts are explaining how stagnant water and humidity contribute to the breeding of mosquitoes and the spread of pathogens. The university is also providing guidance on maintaining hygiene and sanitation to minimize the risk of infection.
Dr. Sushil Bhargava, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, highlighted the importance of understanding the breeding habits of mosquitoes, differentiating between Aedes mosquitoes that breed in clean water and spread dengue, and Anopheles mosquitoes that breed in dirty water and transmit malaria. The campaign emphasizes the use of mosquito nets, repellents, and preventing water accumulation. Information on cholera and typhoid, which are spread through contaminated food and water, is also being shared, stressing the importance of consuming clean water and food. The university is also educating people about the symptoms and treatment of these diseases, encouraging early medical intervention. The initiative reflects Madhav University’s commitment to community health and well-being.
