Abu Road (Sirohi), August 8, 2024 – Madhav University has actively participated in the Chief Minister’s Afforestation Mega-Campaign, planting 2,500 trees this year. The university’s agriculture department organized the drive, encouraging participation from every student and faculty member.
The campaign saw the planting of various species, including neem, peepal, mango, and banyan, across the university campus, neighboring villages, and the university’s farm house in Kasindra.
A significant event within the campaign was the “Hariyali Teej Mahotsav” organized by the agriculture department. During this event, 500 trees of different varieties were planted. Dr. V.R. Patel, Head of the Agriculture Department, stated that the university aims to increase the number of trees planted each year. Over the past years, the university has planted more than 10,000 trees, many of which have now grown into large trees.
The university administration has entrusted students and professors with the responsibility of nurturing the planted trees, from watering to protecting them. This initiative fosters environmental consciousness and responsibility among the university community. The “Hariyali Teej Mahotsav” and the larger afforestation drive saw enthusiastic participation from faculty including Dr. V.R. Patel, Dr. Geetam Singh, Dr. Rajesh Panchal, Dr. Prakash, Dr. Ruchita, and Abhilasha Roy, along with a large number of students. The university’s ongoing commitment to environmental conservation is evident through this sustained effort.
