Abu Road (Sirohi), August 1, 2024 – Madhav University’s law department is actively working to raise awareness about the changes in the Indian Penal Code (IPC) following the implementation of new laws across the country. The university is engaging in direct communication with the general public to inform them about the redefined IPC and the numerous amended sections.
The law department at Madhav University is conducting awareness programs for its law students, as well as students from other faculties, to educate them about the changes in the legal landscape. They are explaining the specific alterations in the sections and highlighting that all sections of the law will now be known as the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The programs also cover the newly incorporated sections within the legal framework.
Dr. D.K. Upadhyay, Dean of the Law Department, along with his team, are leading this awareness campaign. They are educating students at the university and plan to extend this outreach to villagers by distributing pamphlets and conducting legal awareness campaigns in villages with the help of students. Dr. Upadhyay emphasized the importance of public awareness regarding these changes, as many sections have been altered, and citizens need to understand their rights under the new laws. He mentioned that law students will be visiting villages to conduct legal awareness drives. Final year BA LLB student, Ganesh Dewasi, stated that the university regularly organizes awareness programs, including legal aid camps, to provide information about the law. Maninder Pal Singh, another final year LLB student, highlighted the importance of everyone being informed about the new laws, and that the law faculty is organizing legal aid camps to facilitate this.
