Abu Road, Rajasthan, August 14, 2024 – Madhav University’s Library and Information Science Department celebrated National Librarian’s Day. The event commemorated the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, considered the father of library science in India.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Head of the Science Department, highlighted Dr. Ranganathan’s invaluable contributions to the field. The program provided detailed insights into Dr. Ranganathan’s life and work, emphasizing his dedication to library science.
Other faculty members, including Dr. Mahendra Singh Parmar, Dr. Devendra Mujalda, Vipul Rajpurohit, Dalpat Devasi, Kuldeep Purohit, Saruparam Meena, Hitesh Sharma, Rajaram, and Jyoti, shared their perspectives on Dr. Ranganathan’s influence. A large number of students from the department attended the event, drawing inspiration from Dr. Ranganathan’s ideas and accomplishments. The celebration underscored the importance of libraries and librarians in the digital age and honored the legacy of a pioneer in the field.
