The admissions season for colleges and universities starts, which creates a situation of worry for parents about which course their children should enrol in for their bright future. Keeping this context in mind, an important lecture on the topic of what things should be kept in mind while choosing the career of children was organised at the campus of Madhav University. In this lecture, Prof. Dr. Anil Yogi addressed the parents and told them that today’s times have changed, and the parents should also have to change their parenting style. He emphasised that while choosing the course of action for their children, their interests and passions should be kept in mind. Dr. Yogi said that in today’s time, it is not right to emphasise only traditional career options. It is necessary to understand the interests and abilities of children and guide them accordingly. He advised the parents not to hurry about the career choices of their children and to talk openly with them so that they could better understand their likes and dislikes. Career counselling and psychometric test facilities are being provided free of charge at Madhav University. Not only this, but information about job opportunities related to the course is also being given by the placement cell of the university. By using these services, both parents and children can better understand their career options and make the right decision. In this lecture, various parents also shared their experiences and took advice from experts on various subjects. Dr. Hemant Kashyap from the Clinical Psychology Department and Placement Cell Director Dr. Atul Mishra were also present at the university campus during the lecture.
