Abu Road, Rajasthan – November 8, 2024 – Students from the College of Agriculture at Madhav University participated in a training workshop on Thursday focusing on the correct and safe use of pesticides in crops. The workshop provided detailed information on the appropriate use of pesticides for crops like gourds, eggplants, peppers, tomatoes, and cauliflower.
During the training, students were taught the proper techniques for using pesticides, including the correct way to measure and mix insecticides in a 15-liter tank, the use of spray equipment filters, and the proper way to secure the spray tank on the waist. They also studied the effects of leaf miner beetles and sucking pests on gourd crops and learned about the treatment using Panama insecticide at a rate of 15 grams per tank.
The program also included planning for the future use of neem-based biopesticides. Professor Geetam Singh, Assistant Professor of Horticulture Dr. Alok Kumar, and students Vanshika, Preeti Patidar, Ramesh Choudhary, Pankaj, and Deepak Singh actively participated in the educational program. The university aims to equip its agriculture students with the knowledge and skills necessary for safe and effective pest management practices.
