Abu Road, August 21, 2024 – Madhav University’s National Service Scheme (NSS) unit organized an awareness program on Akshay Urja Diwas (Renewable Energy Day) on Tuesday. The event, held on the university campus, aimed to educate students and staff about the importance of renewable energy sources. Professor Dr. Rajiv Mathur, the University Vice Chancellor, presided over the function, while Registrar Dr. Bhavesh Kumawat was the chief guest.
Dr. Mathur emphasized the role of NSS volunteers in raising awareness about energy conservation. He stressed the ethical responsibility of every individual to conserve energy and prevent its wastage. Dr. Kumawat highlighted the university’s own initiatives in adopting renewable energy, citing the installation of a 102-kilowatt solar power plant on campus. He explained that this initiative aims to reduce dependence on conventional electricity and lower energy consumption.
Dr. Devendra Mujalda, NSS Director, urged the volunteers to maximize the use of LED and CFL bulbs for energy efficiency. Sangeeta Singh, in-charge of NSS Unit I, shared information about sustainable energy for all, while Dr. Renuka from NSS Unit II highlighted various government projects aimed at providing affordable electricity. Students Yuva Choudhary, Durga, and Seema also shared their views on the topic. Many students, including Diksha Jangid, Jyotika, Seema Jagid, Khush Sharma, Amar Singh, Jagdish Rajpurohit, Arun Kumar, Anand Trivedi, and Kanan, actively participated in the program.
