Abu Road, Rajasthan, India – September 1, 2024 – Madhav University’s Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital organized an anti-ragging awareness workshop as part of its Anti-Ragging Week observance. The workshop, held on the university campus, was facilitated by Dr. Deepak Bhatania, Assistant Professor in the Physiology Department, and Dr. Parul Singh, Assistant Professor in the Community Medicine Department.
Dr. Singh provided introductory remarks outlining the negative impacts of ragging. Dr. Manoj Kumar Behra, Principal and Dean, addressed the legal repercussions of engaging in ragging activities, informing students of the penalties they could face if found guilty. BHMS students presented a street play highlighting the detrimental effects of ragging on student life and emphasizing the reasons for its prohibition.
The event saw participation from faculty, hospital staff, interns, BHMS students, and non-teaching staff from the Homeopathy Department. Attendees pledged to never support or participate in ragging. The university administration reiterated its commitment to maintaining a ragging-free environment and promoting a safe and inclusive campus for all students. The initiative aimed to create awareness about the serious consequences of ragging and foster a culture of respect and understanding among students.
